Privacy policy

Effective 14 August 2026. Pulse Craft Nest Pte. Ltd. ("we", "us") operates Pulse Craft Nest at pulsecraftnest.life. This policy explains how we handle personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) of Singapore.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Pulse Craft Nest Pte. Ltd., 42 Emerald Hill Road, #02-01, Singapore 229318. Privacy enquiries: [email protected]. General contact: [email protected], +65 6237 5294.

2. Scope

This policy applies to personal data collected through pulsecraftnest.life, email correspondence with our editorial desk, in-person visits to our office, and any mobile-optimised version of the site. It does not cover third-party websites linked from Pulse Craft Nest, including embedded map services operated by Google when you consent to map cookies.

3. What data we collect

Technical data: When you visit Pulse Craft Nest, our servers and, if you consent, analytics tools may record your IP address, browser type, device category, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. This data is used in aggregated form to understand readership patterns and maintain site security.

Cookie and consent data: We store your cookie preferences under the cookie name sg_portal_consent_v18 and a localStorage backup key cookie_consent_v1. These records contain your choices regarding analytics and map embeds, not your identity directly.

Correspondence data: If you email [email protected] or [email protected], we process your email address, message content, and any attachments you provide. Tips submitted for editorial consideration may include names, locations, or photographs of third parties; we handle such material under our editorial ethics guidelines and retain only what is necessary for verification.

Visit data: If you visit our Emerald Hill office, we may record your name and contact details if you provide them voluntarily for meeting follow-up. We do not operate CCTV that captures public pavement areas.

4. Purposes of processing

We process personal data for the following purposes: publishing and improving Pulse Craft Nest content; responding to reader correspondence and correction requests; maintaining site security and diagnosing technical faults; complying with applicable law; and, where you have consented, analysing aggregated traffic and displaying map embeds. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

5. Legal basis under PDPA

Our primary legal basis is consent for non-essential cookies and analytics. Essential processing — such as serving the site, storing consent records, and responding to emails you initiate — is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating a news publication and fulfilling requests you make. Where PDPA requires consent for specific activities, we obtain it before processing begins.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Pulse Craft Nest uses essential cookies required for consent storage and basic session continuity. Optional analytics cookies, if enabled, help us understand which sections readers use most. Map embed cookies, if enabled, allow Google Maps iframes to load on our pages. Full details appear in our Cookie Policy, including the Manage cookies control. You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing site cookies and revisiting the banner, or by emailing [email protected].

7. Third-party processors

We use infrastructure providers for web hosting and email delivery. These processors act on our instructions and are contractually required to protect data. When you consent to map embeds, Google may process data according to its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review Google's policies if you enable map cookies.

8. International transfers

Our hosting providers may process data on servers located outside Singapore. Where transfer occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with PDPA requirements, including contractual clauses with processors.

9. Retention

Server logs are retained for up to ninety days unless required longer for security investigation. Email correspondence is retained while the editorial thread remains active and for up to three years thereafter for audit purposes. Cookie consent records persist for one hundred eighty days from the date of your choice, after which the banner reappears. Tip material unrelated to published stories is deleted within six months unless you request earlier deletion and verification is complete.

10. Security

We implement administrative and technical measures appropriate to a small editorial organisation: encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls on editorial systems, and staff training on confidential sources. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we respond promptly to identified incidents.

11. Your rights

Under the PDPA you may request access to personal data we hold about you, correction of inaccurate data, and withdrawal of consent for processing that relies on consent. You may also withdraw consent for marketing communications, although Pulse Craft Nest does not send promotional marketing emails without explicit opt-in. Submit requests to [email protected]. We respond within thirty days unless an extension is permitted by law.

12. Children

Pulse Craft Nest is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under thirteen without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided data to us, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. Material updates will be noted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy for non-consent-based processing; consent-based processing will re-prompt where required.

14. Contact and complaints

Data protection contact: [email protected], Pulse Craft Nest Pte. Ltd., 42 Emerald Hill Road, #02-01, Singapore 229318. If you remain unsatisfied after contacting us, you may lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore.

15. Do Not Call Registry

Pulse Craft Nest does not use personal telephone numbers collected through editorial correspondence for telemarketing. If we ever operate a voluntary phone bulletin separate from email, we will honour Do Not Call Registry requirements and obtain clear opt-in before placing marketing calls.

16. Automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals. Analytics, when enabled, are reviewed in aggregate by staff and are not used to auto-publish or auto-rank reader correspondence.

17. Source protection and journalistic material

Tip lines may include sensitive personal data about third parties. Our editorial team separates verification notes from published copy. Unpublished source material is stored on encrypted editorial drives with role-based access. Destruction follows the retention schedule in section 9 unless a longer period is required for ongoing investigation or legal hold.

18. Data breach notification

If a personal data breach likely to result in significant harm occurs, we will notify affected individuals and the Personal Data Protection Commission as required by PDPA. Our internal breach procedure includes containment, assessment, documentation, and remedial steps within seventy-two hours of discovery where practicable.

19. Your responsibilities

When submitting correspondence, please do not include unnecessary personal data about others without their knowledge. If you attach photographs, ensure you have the right to share them. Redact identification numbers or account details unless they are essential to the story you are raising.

20. Definitions

"Personal data" means data about an individual who can be identified from that data or from that data and other information to which we have access. "Processing" means any operation performed on personal data, including collection, use, disclosure, and storage. "Consent" means voluntary agreement communicated by you through the cookie banner or explicit written instruction.

21. Access request procedure

To submit an access or correction request, email [email protected] with the subject line "PDPA Request" and sufficient detail for us to locate your records. We may ask for reasonable verification of identity before releasing data. There is no fee for the first access request in a twelve-month period unless the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive; we will inform you before any charge applies.

22. Relationship with cookie policy

Non-essential cookies are controlled through the consent mechanism described in our Cookie Policy. Disabling analytics or map cookies does not affect your ability to read Pulse Craft Nest articles. Essential consent storage cookies remain active so we can remember your choice without prompting on every page view.

23. Policy version history

Version 1.0 published 14 August 2026. Prior versions: none — initial publication coinciding with Pulse Craft Nest launch. Archived copies of this policy are maintained internally and available on request to regulators or data subjects with a legitimate need.

24. Acknowledgment

By continuing to use pulsecraftnest.life after reading this policy, you acknowledge that you have been informed how Pulse Craft Nest Pte. Ltd. processes personal data. Where processing relies on consent, we obtain that consent separately through the cookie banner or explicit correspondence before non-essential processing begins.
