Open Questions is Pulse Craft Nest's transparent ledger of unresolved reporting — what we know, what we do not, and what readers have asked us to pursue. Below, nine questions on our editorial process and active investigations.
How do you decide what to publish?
We publish when a story changes what a reasonable reader might do this week — adjust a commute, attend a hearing, speak to a neighbour. We do not chase volume. Each piece passes the Copy Bench and must name sources where possible. Stories that rely solely on unverified social posts do not publish until we confirm with a primary source or field observation.
What happens when you do not know the answer yet?
We say so plainly. Open Questions exists for exactly that case. When an agency has not responded, a consultation outcome is pending, or field conditions contradict a notice, we log the gap here with what we have verified and what we are still checking. We update entries when facts change.
How do you handle corrections?
Material errors are corrected inline with a visible note: "Updated [date/time SGT]: [description]." Minor typographical fixes may pass without a note if meaning is unchanged. Readers may request correction review at [email protected]. Full policy: House Style.
Do you accept anonymous tips?
Yes, with limits. We protect source identity when disclosure would cause retaliation and when the information is verifiable independently. We do not publish anonymous attacks on private individuals. Tips should include enough detail for us to verify — documents, photographs, or specific locations and dates help.
Why is the Cairnhill linkway still discontinuous?
A reader asked why the covered walkway stops abruptly at Penang Lane despite URA plans showing continuity. We have confirmed the planning intent with URA press office; execution is pending facade consent from two private owners. We expect an update by September 2026 and will publish when consent status changes.
Why was bus stop CX-14 moved without on-site signage?
Several commuters report the CX-14 move occurred without on-site signage for seventy-two hours. LTA acknowledges a lag between physical works and digital notice. We are awaiting timestamped maintenance logs before closing this question. Informal observation often precedes formal announcement — we track both.

Residents in postcode 238802 asked whether NEA teams visit after 19:00 SGT during dengue cluster inspections. NEA confirms standard hours end at 18:30; evening visits occur only by appointment for inaccessible units. How can readers submit an open question?
Send additional questions to [email protected] with "Open Questions" in the subject line. We publish selected entries with reader permission only. We do not publish names without consent. Questions about our editorial process are always eligible; questions about private disputes require verifiable public interest.
Open Questions is updated when our reporting status changes — not on a fixed schedule. If you depend on an entry for a decision, verify against primary sources and contact us if the entry is stale. We aim to review all open questions at least fortnightly during Ledger compilation.
When we close a question, we link to the published follow-up in City Lanes, The Ledger, or House Style as appropriate. Questions that remain open after sixty days receive a status line noting the last verification date. We do not remove open questions silently — either we close them with an outcome or we note that verification is still pending.
